TODAY’S NEWS

  • The Lions continued their preparation for the New England Patriots today with a practice in shorts at the team's headquarters and training facility in Allen Park.  
  • The Lions will play their second consecutive home game on prime-time when they take on the Patriots in Week 3. The game marks Detroit’s only appearance on Sunday Night Football in 2018. 
  • New England leads the all-time series, dating back to 1971, with a 7-4 record against Detroit. The last time the two teams met, the Patriots topped the Lions, 34-9, in Foxborough on Nov. 23, 2014.

RON BELLAMY OF WEST BLOOMFIELD HIGH SCHOOL NAMED DETROIT LIONS/FARM BUREAU INSURANCE OF MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK #4

Detroit, MI—The Detroit Lions have named Ron Bellamy of West Bloomfield High School the week four recipient of the 2018 Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan High School Football Coach of the Week Program.  Bellamy’s Lakers defeated the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks 50-7 to run their record to 3-1. On Friday, September 21, the Lakers host the Lake Orion Dragons (2-2) in an Oakland Activities Association Red Division game.

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have waived OL Jamil Demby. In addition, the team also announced that they have released S Marcus Cromartie from Reserve-Injured.
